Portuguese & Brazilian Awards Celebrates Its 11th Edition in the U.S. with Tributes to Great Figures of the Lusophone World
New York, September 2025 – The 11th edition of the renowned Portuguese & Brazilian Awards, created by Marcilia Luzbet, was successfully held at the traditional Tarrytown House Estate in the United States. The event, which takes place annually around the American Labor Day holiday, honors Brazilians and Portuguese who stand out in their respective fields, strengthening cultural ties among Portuguese-speaking countries.
Hosted by singer Simony and actor Henri Castelli, the ceremony was marked by elegance, charisma, and emotion. The audience celebrated personalities who have distinguished themselves not only in the arts, but also through social, cultural, and humanitarian contributions.
Among the honorees of the night were:

Kristhel Byancco, actress and writer, who shone on the red carpet in a sophisticated long black gown with a train;

Alexandre Canhoni, missionary and lecturer, recognized for his humanitarian work in Niger, where he protects people at risk and brings education to underprivileged communities;

Priscila Santana, internationally renowned musician, whose career combines musical talent and social activism;

Evandro Fioti, singer and songwriter, who defines himself as a “craftsman of stories that weave together memory, affection, and spirituality”;

Rita Cadillac, an icon of Brazilian popular culture, immortalized as a dancer on Chacrinha’s television show;

Lucas Viana, winner of the reality show A Fazenda 11;

Lidi Lisboa, acclaimed actress and participant of A Fazenda 12;

Simone Sampaio, considered one of the most important muses in the history of São Paulo’s carnival, the “queen of queens” has been an icon both with Dragões da Real and in the broader samba community;

Tuta Guedes, who has always been passionate about sertanejo music, having grown up listening to artists of the genre. Raised in an artistic environment, musical instruments were her first toys; at the age of five, she received a small accordion from her uncle. Her grandfather, a talented saxophonist, led a band that included the whole family.
The event also welcomed important figures such as producer and entrepreneur Ricardo Faria, and Nigerian queen Angelique Monet. An American ventriloquist who became a Nigerian queen after marrying the king of Eti-Oni, a region of Nigeria, Monet continues to practice her unusual profession, entertaining Nigerian children with her ventriloquism skills.
The 2025 edition reaffirms the mission of the Portuguese & Brazilian Awards: to honor talent and promote cultural exchange between Brazil, Portugal, and Portuguese-speaking communities around the world.
